Major Changes Coming to IndyCar Race Weekend 2025

For the past few summers, racing and music fans from all across the state flocked to Newton for the Hy-Vee Indy Car Race Weekend at the Iowa Speedway.

This single race weekend brought stars like Ed Sheeran, Luke Combs, Kelsea Ballerini, and Blake Shelton.

A recent development with the event has confirmed that there are some major changes coming to the 2025 weekend.

No Major Concerts: Shifting Away from High-Profile Music Acts

The 2025 INDYCAR Race Weekend is set for July 11th through the 13th. 

Fans that are headed out to the event will see "significant reduction in ticket prices across the board" allegedly.

Officials from Indycar at Iowa confirmed in an official statement that there will be no major concert event at the races this year.

"This summer's event weekend will shift gears from the high-profile music acts we have seen the past few years and instead focus on the great racing our loyal race fans have come to expect of their INDYCAR experience at Iowa Speedway," the statement read.

Hy-Vee Steps Back: New Sponsorship Details for IndyCar Weekend

Another big bit of news that was confirmed involved Hy-Vee groceries. The Iowa based company had been the title sponsor for the event for the past few years.

For the 2025 weekend, it looks like Hy-Vee will be taking a step back.

"Hy-Vee will continue to be a key sponsor of INDYCAR Race Weekend at Iowa Speedway this year, though the company will no longer serve as the title sponsor of the event. We look forward to our continued partnership in 2025."

What Fans Can Expect at the 2025 INDYCAR Race Weekend

While there won't be any major musicians at the weekend long event, there will of course still be plenty of races.

An NTT INDYCAR SERIES doubleheader is slated for the weekend, with races on Saturday and Sunday.

Fans will still get music, but it will be from local acts on the stage in the Midway and "plenty of activities throughout the event at Iowa Speedway for fans to enjoy."

There is no word on whether or not this is a permanent change to the massive racing weekend. We'll keep you updates as more information comes out regarding the 2026 race weekend.
