Iowa: where we're known for saying certain things differently or flat out making up words (ope anyone?). We say "pop" instead of soda, and we're proud of it. We also say certain words wrong. Quite wrong.

In fairness, there are a lot of kooky words in the English language. While we don't have gendered words like some languages, Spanish for example, we still have an abundant amount of words that can be tricky to pronounce.

We also lack the accent many other regions have. Head out east and you'll know right away that you're in Boston, New York... or any eastern state. Head south, and you'll know right away. So, I'm certainly not saying the way we say our words is more wrong than anywhere else.

Whether we're adding a letter, or replacing a letter with one that's just not there, we do seem to struggle with certain words, much to the delight of folks from other regions.
