Four Iowa Nursing Homes Added to a List of the Nation’s Worst
Four Iowa nursing homes have been added to a list of the worst care facilities in the United States.
KCRG reports that for the past 17 years, the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have published a list containing nursing homes that have had reoccurring major violations relating to care. Once a facility made the list, it got increased oversight and assistance from the government in an effort to improve resident care according to KCRG.
After a moratorium, the first list of 2025 was published this week and it shows that four Iowa nursing homes were added to the list of those needing federal help. Those nursing homes are;
- Accura Healthcare of Pleasantville
- Aspire of Perry
- Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center
- Harvest Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Keota
In addition to the four new Iowa nursing homes on the list, KCRG reports that there are six Iowa care facilities that remain on the list from 2024. Those homes include;
- Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah
- Greater Southside Health and Rehabilitation in Des Moines
- Harmony West in West Des Moines
- The Ivy in Davenport
- Pine Acres Rehabilitation and Care Center in West Des Moines
- Via of Des Moines
