Cooper DeJean Reveals Text Message from Chiefs Fan Caitlin Clark
It's hard to think that any other athlete from the state of Iowa could get more media attention than Caitlin Clark. But former Hawkeye star and rookie cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles Cooper DeJean hit Clark where it hurt during the Super Bowl!
Cooper DeJean delivered one of the signature plays of Super Bowl 59 for the Eagles when he picked off a Patrick Mahomes pass and returned it for a touchdown. That play, along with a relentless Philly pass rush, would be the story of the game as the Eagles topped the Chiefs 40-22. The game was especially hard to watch for Caitlin Clark, a self-professed lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan.
But give Caitlin Clark some credit. Clutch Sports reports that despite her pain, Caitlin reached out to Cooper after the game to congratulate him on being a Super Bowl champion. During a recent podcast, DeJean stated that Clark "was just saying that she was proud of me and congratulating me… not only that I scored a touchdown but winning the biggest game in football in my first year. So I appreciate her sending that message even though she's a Chiefs fan."
Cooper added that the two also attended the University of Iowa at the same time. Clutch Sports reports that Caitlin Clark also wished DeJean well leading up to the game, but you better believe she was cheering on her Chiefs during the big game!
