Local Prom Dress Store Opens Inside of Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids
A popular Cedar Rapids dress shop has reopened ahead of the 2026 prom season! Back on December 27th, Dream Dress began welcoming customers at their Lindale Mall location.
About Dream Dress
According to their website, Dream Dress is a women-owned business that is "deeply rooted in our community." They offer more than 1,300 different dresses both in-store and online, with new inventory arriving each week.
Even if Dream Dress doesn't have the exact dress that you want in-stock, there's a good chance they can get it for you. A social media post from the shop reads:
"Most of our dresses can be ordered in different sizes and colors at no additional cost. Plus, if you live out of town we can ship to you."
Know Before You Go
Ahead of their season opening, Dream Dress posted some important information for shoppers to know before they come in. For example, anyone 16 or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when visiting the shop. You will also be required to either remove your shoes or wear shoe covers when you enter the store, which helps keep the dresses clean.
There are no appointments at Dream Dress, but if you come in during a time when the store is busy, you can be added to a wait list for one of the 20 dressing rooms. They will send you a text when a room becomes available. In order to accommodate as many shoppers as possible, the store's policy is that each person can try on a maximum of four dresses per turn. If you do decide to purchase a dress, Dream Dress will register it to your school to ensure that you won't end up with the same exact dress as another student.
Dream Dress doesn't hold dresses for customers, but they do offer a layaway option if you can't pay the full amount right away. Their website says they "require half of the cost of the dress up front and the remaining amount within 30 days."

Store Hours
It may seem like it's too early in the season to purchase a prom dress, but it's actually not! A recent social media post from Dream Dress says that they've already welcomed hundreds of teens from all over the Corridor, as well as customers from Des Moines, Mason City, Cedar Falls, Dubuque, and more!
Dream Dress is located near the former Younkers at Lindale Mall, near Torrid, Finish Line, and Turtle Power Games. Their current hours are:
