A gorgeous, rural Iowa mansion is for sale. It's a thing of beauty.

Take a long look at the photo above, which showcases the uniqueness of this huge home. A massive wraparound porch and three stories tall, just look at the windows on the 3rd floor. And yes, it says 1871 on the roof in the foreground, announcing to the world the year the home was built.

The mansion is known as the Pella Victorian Villa and is actually located east of the town of Pella in south-central Iowa. Described as a Victorian Era Italianate Brick mansion, it has 11-foot ceilings throughout, oval-shaped windows on the top floor, and a remarkable 70 windows and 35 doors. A grand stairway goes up an amazing 12-feet. According to the historical page of the home's website, it's made of "alternating oak and black walnut". The home has three total stairways between the mansion's first and second floors.

The Pella Victorian Villa was built by John Voorhees, who invested in real estate and also had a large farm that encompassed 400 acres when the mansion was built. All of the brick for the house was actually made in a kiln on the property, with bricks made there also used for other homes that were under construction.

Voorhees, who was Dutch, assisted other Dutchmen with their expenses if they wanted to move across the world to Iowa. To work off their debt, they worked on the farm, living in the home.

Re/Max Partners Realty says the mansion is 5,046 square feet and also sits on just over an acre-and-a-half of land. It has geothermal heating and cooling and an electrical system that's been updated.

The mansion was built with a variety of unique features, including walls that actually consist of two double layers of brick. Between them is space for insulation, which is currently foam. The bricks and mortar used to build the home were the same color, so white lines were painstakingly painted between each and every brick.

The Pella Victorian Villa is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The mansion is also an Iowa historic site. Let's take a look around.
