Well this is BOGUS! A website called Big Seven Travel just ranked all 50 states from friendliest, #1; to least friendly, #50. So, where did our humble Midwestern state land on the list?

Number 29?!

Really? The website says:

Iowa is well known for being a generally friendly and kind state, with people regularly waving hello to strangers and saying hello on the street. Cashiers will greet you with a smile, roadside farmers will tell you all about their tasty crops and there’s a real sense of community.

So why 29? The metric used by Big Seven Travel is simply website users opinions They say roughly 1.5 million people participated, and that's how they came to the conclusion we are the 29th friendliest.

The top 10 MOST friendly states are:

  1. Minnesota (of course, 'Minnesota Nice' right?
  2. Tennessee
  3. South Carolina
  4. Texas
  5. Wyoming
  6. Indiana
  7. Colorado
  8. Kansas
  9. Oklahoma
  10. Hawaii

Least friendly? New York.

Well hey, at least we have them beat, right?
