Golfer Makes Three Holes-In-One in Five Days
The odds of making a hole in one is somewhere around 12,000 to 1.
The National Hole-in-One Registry says that there are roughly 450 million rounds of golf played each year in the U.S. Each of those courses reports between 10-15 aces per year. That means a hole-in-one is scored once in every 3,500 rounds.
What about THREE Holes-in-One in Five Days? I’d say you better buy a lottery ticket.
Even more amazing, this guy now has a total of 11 Holes-in-one.
The average golfer plays for over two decades before hitting a hole-in-one. Jim Wolklin started playing in the 1980s.
On February 12th, the 68-year-old aced his first hole with an 8-iron from 144-yards out in Naples, Florida with three witnesses. Three days later his hit another hole-in-one with three different witnesses.
On February 16th, with his wife Cheryl, and another married couple, he used a 9-iron from 130 yards for his third ace in five days. Incredible.
Imagine having so many holes-in-one that people are disappointed when you don’t actually make one. He told golfweek:
“When we get to a par-3, and I set up, the people are expecting it to go in the hole, which adds a little bit of pressure.”
In 1971, John Hudson nailed two consecutive holes-in-one. This is believed to be the only time a player has scored holes-in-one at consecutive holes in a major professional tournament.
