Funeral Announcements for Monday, January 23, 2017

Services for an Oelwein man, 86 year old Richard Schmelzer, will be held at 11am on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. Burial will be in Hawkeye Cemetery at Hawkeye. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Tuesday at Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein with a Parish Scripture Service at 6:30pm and military honors at 6:45pm.

Services for a Jesup woman, 92 year old Caroline Frahm, will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am at the St. John Lutheran Church in Fairbank. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in rural Oelwein. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and will continue for an hour before the service on Wednesday at the church.

Services for a Manchester man, 88 year old Lawrence "Larry" Sanderson, will be held on Wednesday at 3pm at Leonard-Muller Funeral with military rites. Internment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-3pm at the funeral home.

Services for a Waverly man, 81 year old James Lahr, will be held Tuesday at 10:30am at Faith Lutheran Church in Shell Rock. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock. Visitation will be today from 4-7pm at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Shell Rock.

Services for an Osage woman, 89 year old Norma O'Harran, will be held on Wednesday at 2:30pm at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:30pm on Wednesday at the Faith Lutheran Home.

Services for an Elkader woman, 71 year old Jame Griffith, will be held on Wednesday at 11am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elkader. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery in Elkader. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7pm at Leonard-Grau Funeral HOme and after 10am at the church on Wednesday.

Services for a Decorah resident, 90 year old Frances Stoskopf, will be held on Tuesday at 11am at Decorah Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm today at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Tuesday beginning at 10am until the service at the church

Services for a Chester man, 93 year old William Brekke, will be held on Tuesday at 11am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with burial in Calvary cemetery with military honors. Friends may call at the LIndstrom Funeral home in Riceville today from 4-7pm and an hour before service at the church.

Services for a Vinton man, 90 year old Forrest Bolte formerly of Tripoli, will be held today at 11am at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli. There will be a private internment at the church cemetery. Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli is assisting the family.

A Waukon man, 90 year old James Thomson, passed away on January 17th. A private graveside service will be held at a future date. Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah is serving the family.

Services for a Cresco woman, 95 year old Virginia Ripley, will be held on Friday at 2pm at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lime Springs. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Services for an Elgin woman, 52 year old Cathy Scheidel, will he held on Tuesday at 11am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clemont. Burial will follow at St. Benedict Cemetery in Decorah. Visitation will be today from 4-7pm at the church and will continue an hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Elgin is assisting the family.

Services for a Plainfeld man, 82 year old Jimmey "Jim" Lampe, will be held on Tuesday at 10:30am at the Hughback-Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton with military honors. Interment will take place at a later date. Friends may greet the family from 4-7pm today at the Hughback-Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the funeral Home on Tuesday.

Services for a Waukon woman, 91 year old Helen Evanson, will be held on Saturday at 11am at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waterville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7pm on Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
