Authorities are investigating the cause of a Northeast Iowa barn fire.

Firefighters were called out Tuesday morning, to a barn along Sable Avenue, near Readlyn.

The outbuilding was engulfed, but winds were blowing the flames away from other structures. A nearby home did have some damage to it's siding.

No one was injured; there was no livestock in the building, but a puppy is missing.

The origin of the blaze has not yet been determined.
