The Park Avenue bridge over the Cedar River in downtown Waterloo is scheduled to be closed for a week for a repair project.

In a press release, city officials said the bridge will be shut down beginning at 8:30 AM on Tuesday. They anticipate re-opening the bridge on June 18.

According to city officials, the project involves fixing the bridge deck. They plan to break up the existing concrete and re-pour it, to eliminate spots where the steel structure no longer bonds to the concrete.

Anyone with questions about the bridge repair project should contact the city's Engineering Department at 319-291-4312.
