Devlin "Duck" Hodges is a former NFL quarterback who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Wilson says he's changed careers.

His needs are surprisingly simple.

"Toby would kind of leave you with your head sideways sometimes, just how talented he was," Gilbert says.

It turns out that the "I Had Some Help" singer wasn't just showing respect to the '90s and 2000s great.

"Garth was basically telling me, if you want to write real songs that relate to real people, you have to live real life."
