Area Woman Arrested for Shoplifting Incident

A Northeast Iowa woman has been arrested on a theft charge in Oelwein.

Shortly after 5pm Monday (July 3), Oelwein police were called to the ten block of 2nd Street SE on the report of a shoplifter.

Officers then arrested 69 year old Shirley Vandereide of Elkader, on a charge of Theft-3rd Degree, which is an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
