40 Horses on a Fayette County Road, 1 Hit by Semi
The Fayette County Sheriff is looking into why approximately 40 horses were running loose on a roadway, one of them being struck by a semi.
At about 3:30am Monday (Aug. 3), deputies were called to the accident scene, in the 1,000 block of "C" Avenue, about 2 miles north of Lamont.
An initial investigation determined a southbound semi driven by 66 year old Henry Jones of Harpers Ferry, struck one of nearly 40 animals in the road.
The 2005 Mack Semi was totaled; no injuries were reported.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
