Waterloo Police have arrested a West Union man, following a high speed pursuit late last night (Wednesday, July 25).


At around 11:30pm, a Waterloo patrolman tried to stop a car for a traffic violation at East Fourth and Newell Streets.

The car sped off, reaching speeds of up to 100 miles an hour. The chase went north on Highway 218, and ended up in a soybean field outside of town.

The driver, 37 year old Robert Truesdell of West Union, was taken into custody for Eluding and Driving While Suspended.

The chase lasted about 40 minutes.
