Weekend House Fire in Linn County

Authorities are investigating the cause of a weekend house fire.

Emergency crews from Linn County, along with fire departments from Atkins, Cedar Rapids, Fairfax, Hiawatha, and Palo, were called out just before 9:30pm Sunday to a house on fire at 1414 Berger Lane, on the west edge of Cedar Rapids.

No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The house is owned by Michael McMurrin and Occupied by his son, Shane, along with Shane's child.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
