Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Waterloo early today (March 27, 2015).

Shortly after midnight, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1400 block of Jefferson Street. When they arrived, police found shell casings on the pavement.

About five minutes after they received the initial call about the shooting incident, police said a man arrived at the Covenant Medical Center emergency room seeking treatment for a single, non-life threatening gunshot wound to his arm. Officials identified the victim as Marquis D. Morris, 19, of Waterloo.

According to Waterloo police captain Dave Mohlis, authorities are in the process of interviewing witnesses and following up on evidence collected at the scene. Mohlis declined to release further information about the case.
