Following a long investigation, a Waterloo man has been charged in connection with a stolen vehicle incident in Fayette County.


The case began on February 21st, shortly after noon, when the Fayette County Sheriff received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 9,000 block of "Y" Avenue, in the northeast corner of Sumner.

Responding deputies found a loaded .22 calibre handgun in the vehice. The stolen vehicle, a 2003 Ford Escape, was later recovered by the Waterloo Police Department.

After this long investigation, 37 year old Andrew Wood of Waterloo has now been charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree. He was also taken into custody by Waterloo Police on other multiple charges.

Wood is being held in the Fayette County Jail on $10,000 bond.
