A state of emergency has been declared in Floyd County due to flooding on the Cedar River. Many roads have been closed throughout the County due to washed out gravel roads, culverts and bridges. Travel on ALL County Secondary roads is not recommended.

The river is expected to crest at 21.8, which is lower than 2008 when the river crested at 25.33 feet. Sand bags are available in the Hy-Vee parking lot in Charles City. Police and fire personnel are conducting evacuations in flood prone areas and gas and electric service will be disconnected in those areas.
