The Fayette County Sheriff was called out to two recent traffic accidents, both involving deer.


The latest was reported at about 5pm Monday (Nov. 5), in the 19,000 block of Acorn Road, south of Elgin. An SUV driven by 65 year old Karla Wolfs of Elgin was north bound, when a deer came out onto the road and she struck it. No injuries were reported, but there was $2,000 damage to her 2016 Jeep Cherokee.

And at about 6:30pm Sunday, a vehicle struck a deer, south of Eldorado on Lincoln Road. 76 year old Judy McIntosh of Decorah hit a deer that wandered out onto the road. No one was injured; there was $3,500 in damage to the 2006 Buick Rainier.
The Iowa DNR assisted the Fayette County Sheriff in the investigation.
