Week 4 of the NFL season is over and we've witnessed some pretty odd football happenings. Regardless of the weirdness, UNI has several players active in the NFL, so let's go back and see how they did last week. 

Panthers In The NFL: Week 4

Week four of the NFL regular season is in the books, so now it’s time to recap how former Northern Iowa Panthers performed in last week’s games.

UNI currently has six former Panthers in the NFL, with the most recent signing of LJ Fort to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 53-man roster. Below is a full rundown of UNI’s current players in the NFL and how they did in week four.

DAVID JOHNSON (UNI - 2011-14)
Week 5 Schedule: Cardinals at Eagles (Sunday, 12 p.m. CT)
The former Panther running back finished his first game of the season with 23 yards on 11 carries, before suffering an injury. Reports say David Johnson will be out at least two months after undergoing wrist surgery and will be placed on injured reserve.

DEIONDRE HALL (UNI - 2012-15)
Week 5 Schedule: Vikings at Bears (Monday, 7:30 p.m. CT)
Deiondre Hall is entering his second season with the Chicago Bears in 2017, he was most recently placed on the injured reserve by the Bears. Hall played in eight games as a rookie in the 2016 season.

AUSTIN HOWARD (UNI - 2006-09)
Week 5 Schedule: Ravens at Raiders (Sunday, 3:05 p.m. CT)
The Davenport, Iowa native started at offensive tackle again this week, as the Ravens dropped to 2-2 overall following a loss to the Steelers, 26-9.

XAVIER WILLIAMS (UNI - 2011-14)
Week 5 Schedule: Cardinals at Eagles (Sunday, 12 p.m. CT)
Xavier Williams recorded two tackles and a half sack in week four for the Cardinals as Arizona defeated the 49ers, 18-15. Williams has five tackles this season, which is one shy of his season-high set last year.

LJ FORT (UNI - 2008-10)
Week 5 Schedule: Jaguars at Steelers (Sunday, 12 p.m. CT)
LJ Fort did not record a tackle in week four, but his Steelers downed the Ravens in convincing fashion, 26-9.

TERRELL SINKFIELD (UNI - 2009-12)
Week 5 Schedule: Jets at Browns (Sunday, 12 p.m. CT)
Before the start of the 2017 regular season, former Panther Terrell Sinkfield was signed to the New York Jets practice squad as a cornerback. Sinkfield began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2013. Since then, Sinkfield has spent time with the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings and the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and BC Lions.
