Truck Driver Injured Near Evansdale, Dies of Injuries
The driver of a dump truck that crashed into a wall near Evansdale last Wednesday (Aug. 29), has now died of his injuries.
46 year old Christopher Timmer of Waterloo was driving a gravel truck southbound on I-380, shortly after 9am Wednesday, when his truck crossed the median, into oncoming traffic.
After crashing into a pickup, the dump truck entered a ditch, hit a guard rail, then went through a concrete barrier, where it caught fire.
Passersby pulled Timmer out of the truck; he was taken to Covenant Hospital, where he died on Friday.
The pickup driver, 49 year old Richard Burke of Lockridge, was taken to Covenant with undisclosed injuries.
