A traffic stop earlier this month has led to more serious drug charges against a Charles City man.

On March 13th, the Floyd County sheriff pulled over a vehicle on South Main Street in Charles City. The driver, 22 year old Dalton Betsinger, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and stopping in the traveled portion of the road.

Several illegal items were seized, and information from that stop led to 2 other traffic stops with more drug charges, and a search warrant at a hotel room rented by Betsinger on South Grand Avenue in Charles City, with more drug-related items confiscated.

On Monday (March 30), Betsinger was arrested on two outstanding warrants, for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. His bond was set at $105,000.

During the arrest, officers found Betsinger in possession of a baggy of marijuana. He was then charged with possession of pot.

Betsinger appeared before a magistrate Monday for his initial appearance.
