Two Northeast Iowa women have been cited for causing a three-vehicle accident near Marion.

The Linn County Sheriff was called out shortly after 7:30am Wednesday (Oct. 17) to an accident with injuries, on Highway 13, north of Highway 100.

A vehicle driven by 29 year old Courtney Ahlrichs of Springville, collided with the back of a vehicle driven by 27 year old Kaitlyn Zauche of Peosta. Zauche's car then rear-ended a truck, which left the scene before authorities arrived.

Ahlrichs was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, with non-life threatening injuries. Zauche was not hurt.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Both women were charged with following too close.
