Two teenage girls face some serious charges for allegedly starting a fire that destroyed a large garage in Dyersville.

The fire was started October 1st at a seven-stall garage, located near an apartment complex in Dyersville. A witness spotted the two 13 year old girls, Dailen Carter and Toni Spencer, both of Dyersville, coming out of the garage just before the blaze was first noticed.

The fire destroyed the garage and also damaged the apartment building, causing an estimed $100,000 in damage.

The girls were interviewed by police and reportedly confessed to starting the fire.

Both Carter and Spencer are being charged with first degree criminal mischief and reckless use of fire.
