An Elkader teenager has been arrested for vandalism done last week to signs erected to honor a high school football program in Waukon.


The vandalism was first reported to Waukon Police last Tuesday, Nov. 13th. The Waukon High School Football State Playoff signs, located near the Waukon High School, were damaged on Friday, Nov. 9.

Police reviewed surveillance camera footage from the area, and were able to identify a vehicle involved in the incident.

The driver, 18 year old Kaleb Lawson of Elkader, was located and arrested in Waukon on Sunday (Nov. 18th).

Lawson is being charged with criminal mischief-fourth degree, reckless driving, and failure to obey a traffic control device. Lawson was held in the Allamakee County Jail in Waukon.
