An Eastern Iowa teen has died in a two-vehicle accident, near the Tama/Poweshiek County line.

It happened at about 6:30am Wednesday, on Tama County Road V-18, south of Chelsea.

A northbound car driven by 19 year old Thor Osterholt crossed the center line and collided head-on with a van driven by 44 year old Sally Slaven. Both drivers are from Chelsea.

Osterholt was aircared to University Hospitals in Iowa City, but died from his injuries.

Slaven was also flown to University Hospitals for treatment, but a condition report was not available.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, with assistance from the sheriff's offices in Tama and Poweshiek Counties.
