Suspicious Person Arrested on Weapons Charge

A local man has been arrested after authorities received a report of a suspicious person walking along a highway

At about 4am Monday (June 19), the Fayette County Sheriff responded to a report of a suspicious person walking on Highway 150, just south of Fayette.

An investigating deputy identified the subject as 34 year old Zachary Welsh of Oelwein. Welsh was arrested for Carrying Weapons; he was taken to the Fayette County Jail in West Union, to be held until his initial court appearance.

And Fayette County authorities have arrested a Waterloo man on a driving infraction. Just before midnight Saturday (June 17), a deputy pulled over a car for a traffic violation. The driver, 40 year old Conchetti Bell, was arrested for Driving While his License is Suspended. He was held in the county jail until his court appearance.
