An Oelwein man has been arrested for going nearly twice the posted highway speed limit.


Shortly after 5am Sunday (May 20), a Fayette County Deputy pulled over a car on Highway 3, east of Oelwein, traveling at 102 miles per hour in a 55 mile an hour zone. The driver, 25 year old Brandon Keehner, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, and Speeding.

Late Saturday night, just before midnight, a Fayette County deputy stopped a vehicle on a traffic violation. Following an investigation, 32 year old John Bodensteiner of Ossian was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense.

The Fayette County Sheriff also reports that on Thursday evening, they arrested 33 year old James Patterson at Prairie View Residential Facility, on a Fayette County warrant for misuse of 911 communications. Patterson is accused of calling 911 multiple times, for non-emergency issues. Patterson was held on $300 bond until his court appearance.
