Sisters Killed in Accident in Winneshiek County

An accident in Winneshiek County has taken the life of 2 Decorah sisters.

It happened at about 8:30am Monday on County Road W-40 near Decorah. A car driven by 17 year old Avery Arneson of Decorah went out of control and crossed the center line. The car slid sideways and was hit in the passenger side by an oncoming pickup driven by 15 year old Gage Dahlberg of Decorah.

Killed in the accident were 17 year old Avery Arneson and her sister, 13 year old Aden Arneson.

Three passengers were injured, as well as the other driver. One had to be transferred to a LaCrosse hospital for treatment.

The accident was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol.
