The Buchanan County Sheriff responded to two separate traffic accidents, less than an hour apart Thursday night, which sent two people to the hospital.

The first happened at about 7pm on 330th street, northwest of Coggon. A vehicle driven by 16 year old Jazimen Brunkhorst of Coggon, went out of control, entered a ditch and rolled onto it's roof. Brunkhorst was taken to St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids to be treated for minor injuries. The suv was totaled. Brunkhorst was charged with failure to maintain control.

The other accident occurred at about 7:55pm, on Highway 150, southwest of Rowley. A car driven by 18 year old Megan Fauver of Independence, was headed north, when she lost control, drove into the ditch, and the car rolled once. Fauver was taken to the Independence hospital for treatment. The car was considered a total loss. That accident is still under investigation, and charges are pending.
