Rural Waverly Woman Found Dead in Vehicle

A rural Waverly woman, found dead in her vehicle off a county road Tuesday, apparently died of a medical condition.

Shortly after 11am Tuesday, the Bremer County Sheriff received a report of a vehicle that had run off the road on C-33, just north of Waverly.

Deputies who arrived at the scene, found the driver unresponsive; the officers had to break a window to reach the driver.

Lifesaving measures were performed, but were not successful, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bremer County Medical Examiner.

The driver was identified as 73 year old Carolyn Waggett of rural Waverly. According to the Bremer County Sheriff's Office, Waggett's death is believed to be the result of a medical condition.

The Bremer County Sheriff was assisted by the Waverly Ambulance, Waverly Fire Department, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DOT Enforcement, and Bremer County Medical Examiner.
