Pot Found in Car Involved in Accident in Bremer Co.

A Cedar Falls woman faces charges after authorities found illegal drugs in her car, following a two vehicle accident in Bremer County.

The accident happened at about 5pm Friday (Nov. 16) in the 2400 block of Highway 218, near Janesville. According to the Bremer County Sheriff, a southbound car being driven in the right lane by 22 year old Samantha Lund of Cedar Falls, struck another southbound car in the left lane, driven by 23 year old Brooke Vandaele of Dunkerton.

Lund's compact car went sideways, then flipped onto the driver's side, going through a cable barrier.

While the sheriff was investigating the accident scene, officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Lund's car.

Lund is being charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and making an improper lane change.

No one received injuries in the accident.

The Bremer County Sheriff was assisted by Janesville's Police Department, Fire Department, First Responders, Waverly Ambulance, and Iowa State Patrol.
