Police Respond to Accident, Driving Violation, and Loose Dog

An Oelwein woman is being charged with causing a traffic accident.

Oelwein Police were called out at about 11:30am Thursday to the 300 block of East Charles. The accident involved 2 vehicles, with property damage only. 32 year old Lacy Jo Welch was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.

An Oelwein man has been arrested following a traffic stop Thursday afternoon. 26 year old Tyler Thompson was pulled over shortly after 3:30pm in the 100 block of 5th Street NW. He was charged with Driving While his License is Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

And a local resident was cited after police were called out Thursday night, to a dog running at-large in the 100 block of 1st Avenue NW. 41 year old Melissa Hempstead of Oelwein was cited for Allowing a Dog to Run At-large.
