Pickup Theft, Warrant Arrests, and More in Fayette County

A Postville man has been arrested for an outstanding warrant. On Monday, Fayette County authorities took 44 year old Mauro Nunez into custody on a Fayette County warrant for 5th degree theft. He made an initial appearance before a magistrate and was later released on his promise to appear.

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a pickup theft. The white, 2002 Ford F-150, taken from Oelwein, was found Sunday in a ditch on Outer Road, about a half mile northeast of Oelwein. The driver had fled the scene.

Also on Sunday, the Fayette County Sheriff got a report of a suspicious person on Main Street in Oran. An investigation led to the arrest of 23 year old Seth Annis of Fairbank, after authorities determined Annis removed items from behind Hardware Hank. Annis also allegedly gained entry into the Oran Locker and took some items. He was taken to the Fayette County jail on charges of 3rd degree burglary, 4th degree theft and criminal trespass.

An Oran man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a vehicle and stealing medication. At about 11:30am Tuesday, the Fayette County sheriff took 26 year old Dustyn Henry into custody. He is accused of breaking out a window in a vehicle and taking prescription medication. Henry is being charged with burglary 3rd degree, harassment 3rd degree, and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.

And an Oelwein woman has been arrested on an outstanding warrant. 33 year old Tanya Kapler was taken into custody Tuesday on a Fayette County warrant for child endangerment. She was held on $2,000 cash bond.
