Pickup Accident Seriously Hurts 3, 2 with Life-Threatening Injuries
An eastern Iowa man faces several charges, after crashing a pickup, seriously injuring 3 people.
At about 12:30am Wednesday (May 16), Johnson County authorities received a report of an accident that happened on private property, north of Iowa City.
There were 4 people in the pickup, 2 of them in the back.
3 of the occupants were taken to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, with 2 of them sustaining life-threatening injuries.
The driver, 29 year old Austin Allison-Schuppert of Iowa City, is being charged with Serious Injury by Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Allison-Schuppert's bond was set at $17,000 cash.
The incident remains under investigation, and more charges are pending.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Solon Fire Department and the Johnson County Ambulance Service.
