OWI, Car vs Deer, Covered by Fayette County Sheriff

An Oelwein motorist faces charges after a weekend traffic stop.

At about 2:30am Saturday, a Fayette County deputy pulled over a car east of "T" Avenue; after investigating, the driver, 50 year old Daniel Tielebein, was arrested and charged with driving while his license is suspended, and owi 2nd offense. He was taken to the Fayette County jail until his initial court appearance.

The Fayette County sheriff was notified of a car vs deer accident Saturday night, shortly after 7pm, just outside of Clermont on Highway 18. An SUV driven by 21 year old Leah Dreps of Lansing collided with a deer in the road. No one was injured, but there was $1,500 in damage.
