Black Hawk County authorities have captured 4 suspects plus a fugitive, who were allegedly trying to break into an occupied rural Waterloo home.

The Black Hawk County Sheriff received a call from a woman at about 6:30am Monday, reporting that while she was in her home, people were knocking on the front and back doors at the same time. She also discovered that a window on the front door was busted. No one gained entry.

All of the suspects fled before officers arrived.

A search of the area near the home resulted in the arrest of 4 of the five suspects. The fifth assailant avoided arrest until Tuesday night, when he was taken into custody in Bremer County. He was identified as 34 year old Steven Rhoads of Denver. Rhoads was charged with 2nd Degree Attempted Burglary.

The other four suspects were identified as 37 year old Aaron Kingsley and 19 year old Hayley Kingsley, both of Denver, and 24 year old Bruce Miller and 33 year old Keeley Jordan, both of Waterloo.
They face charges of burglary and attempted burglary.

The Black Hawk County Sheriff was assisted by Waterloo Police, Cedar Falls Police, and the Iowa State Patrol.
