Oelwein Police Report Thefts and Weekend Arrests

Oelwein Police have arrested a local woman on a theft charge.

At about 3pm Saturday (Sept. 29), officers were called to a business in the 1300 block of South Frederick, on the report of a shoplifter. 47 year old Alexis Buhr of Oelwein was taken into custody on a charge of Theft-4th Degree.

An Oelwein man faces charges after a weekend traffic stop. Shortly after 10pm Saturday, a car driven by 28 year old Adam Nichols was pulled over in the 10 block of 3rd Street NE in Oelwein. Following an investigation, Nichols was charged with Failure to refile SR22 Insurance and Driving While his License is Revoked.

And Oelwein Police are looking into a couple of thefts that were reported Friday; the first, at just before 2am, occurred in the 100 block of 1st Avenue SE. The other theft was reported at 6:45pm in the 100 block of South Frederick. No other details were released.
