Oelwein Police Report Arrests Plus a Burglary

An Oelwein woman has been arrested on drug charges following a recent traffic stop.

Shortly after 1pm Sunday (June 24), Oelwein Police pulled over a vehicle in the 10 block of 4th Avenue SW. After investigating, officers took 28 year old Vanessa Neeley into custody on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Saturday afternoon, Oelwein Police arrested 27 year old Joshua Avenson of Oelwein, on a Fayette County warrant for Failure to Serve Jail Time. Avenson was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Oelwein Police are investigating a break-in. The burglary was reported Friday afternoon, in the 500 block of 5th Avenue NW. No other information was released.
