Oelwein Police Make Arrests in Traffic Stops

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man, after a traffic stop early this (Friday, Jan. 19) morning.

At about 12:45am, officers pulled over a vehicle in the 100 block of 4th Street NW in Oelwein. After an investigation, the driver, 40 year old Nick Walker of Oelwein, was arrested on a charge of Operating While Intoxicated-2nd Offense.

In another Oelwein traffic stop, early Thursday morning (Jan. 18), authorities took 67 year old Patrick Schanbeck of Oelwein into custody, for Driving While his License is Suspended. The stop was made in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE.

And Oelwein Police are looking into a theft complaint. The theft was reported shortly after 8:30am Thursday (Jan. 18), from the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE. No other information was released.
