Oelwein Police Called to Car/Pedestrian Accident

Oelwein Police have cited a teenage driver with striking a pedestrian.

The accident happened shortly after 7am Wednesday (Aug. 22) in the 1300 block of 2nd Street SE. A vehicle driven by 19 year old Robbie McKeeman of Oelwein colided with a pedestrian. The name of the person injured was not released. Oelwein Police did not release the severity of the person's injuries. McKeeman was charged with Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian.

Oelwein Police are investigating a theft and a vandalism. Both incidents were reported shortly after 12 noon Wednesday; the theft was in the 100 block of 1st Avenue NW, and the criminal mischief was in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue NW. No other details were released; both incidents remain under investigation.
