Oelwein Man Charged in Assault, Public Intox

A local man has been arrested on assault and other charges.

Oelwein Police were called out to the report of an assault shortly after 11pm Friday (Nov. 17), in the 100 block of South Frederick. There, they arrested 25 year old Nathaniel Rohrick of Oelwein on charges of Assault Causing injury, and Public Intoxication-2nd Offense. Both charges are Serious Misdemeanors.

Oelwein Police are also looking into a couple of theft incidents. The first complaint was reported Wednesday (Nov. 15) at about 10pm, in the 300 block of 5th Avenue SE.

The other incident was called in to police shortly after 3am Sunday (Nov. 19) from the 10 block of 9th Avenue SE. No other information was released; both thefts remain under investigation.
