Oelwein Man Arrested on Warrant for Assault

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man on an outstanding warrant, concerning assault and other charges.

At about 12:30pm Tuesday (Aug. 7), following an incident in the 400 block of 1st Avenue NE, 26 year old Travis Owens of Oelwein was taken into custody on a 1st Judicial District Parole Violation Warrant.

The original charges were Assault, Criminal Mischief-2nd Degree, Possession with Intent, and Willful Injury.

The Oelwein Police Department is also investigating a theft incident. The theft was reported shortly after 11am Tuesday in the 100 block of County Line Road. No other information was released.
