Oelwein Man Arrested on Black Hawk Co. Warrants

A local man has been arrested on a couple of outstanding warrants.

At about 9am Monday (Feb. 19), 30 year old Shane Dietz of Oelwein was taken into custody on two Black Hawk County warrants: for a Probation Violation for Assault and Possession of Marijuana, and for Failure to serve 180 days in jail for a Mittimus for 2nd Offense Possession of Methamphetamine.

As a result of a traffic stop Friday (Feb. 16), an Oelwein man, 60 year old David Leyh, was arrested for a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The arrest was made during a traffic stop in the 600 block of Highway 150 North.

And Oelwein Police are investigating a break-in. The burglary was reported Friday evening from the 500 block of 4th Street SW. No other information was released.
