No Charges in Stalker Reports at Local Store
Even though reports of a stalker at a local business have proven false, police are commending citizens in being alert to suspicious activities.
The Independence Police Department reports that, over the last few weeks, they have received calls, as well as Facebook notifications, regarding the concerns over a possible stalker at the local Wal-Mart store. Police officers were dispatched to investigate the reports, but no arrests were made.
According to authorities, one complaint involved the suspicious actions of a person inside the store, and another incident in the store's parking lot. The incidents were apparently not related, and no charges were filed.
Police noted that these citizens did the right thing by reporting alleged suspicious activity by calling 911, and providing details to officers.
