No. 15 Iowa State (15-4, 5-2 Big 12) held off a late surge by No. 19 Texas (14-6, 3-4 Big 12) for a 89-86 win Monday, January 26, 2015 in Hilton Coliseum.

With eight minutes left in the game, the Iowa State Cyclones had built a 21 point lead. That's when the Longhorns mounted a come back and began to chip away on that lead. They worked that lead down to three points with just under 30-seconds left in regulation. Despite struggling at the free throw line, ISU was able to hold on for its 18th-straight home win.

Five Cyclones ended the the night with double digit scoring. Georges Niang led the way with 19 points. Bryce Dejean-Jones scored 18 points, and Monte’ Morris had 13 points and six dimes.

Iowa State shot 54.7 percent from the field. Texas was 0-of-7 from 3-point range in the first half, but made 10-of-15 shots from downtown after half-time to help propel its late-game charge.
