A Rowley man has pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a young teen, and will be spending his next ten years behind bars.

24 year old Michael Toms pleaded guilty Tuesday, to sexual abuse in the third degree in Buchanan County District Court. Toms had admitted to having sexual contact with a person who was 14 or 15 years old, between March 1st and April 30th of 2014. He was arrested in December.

Toms had a prior conviction of enticing a minor in Buchanan County in 2011.

After making the plea, Toms was sentenced to 10 years in prison. After serving the term, he will be on parole for the rest of his life.

Toms is also required to register as a sex offender, and not have contact with the victim for 5 years, which may be renewed for another 5 years.
