A Northeast Iowa man has been arrested on weapons charges after refusing to comply with officers during an incident in rural Winneshiek County.

Authorities received a 911 call at about 11pm Saturday (Nov. 3) from a residence in Freeport, on the report of a disturbance.

Responding deputies located the suspect, identified as 30 year old Joshua Draves of Decorah. Draves apparently would not following officers' orders concerning a weapon; a tazer was used, and Draves was taken into custody.

He was first taken to the Decorah hospital to be treated for any injuries from the use of the tazer. Draves was then jailed on charges of going armed with intent, domestic abuse assault, displaying or using a weapon and criminal mischief 3rd degree.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff was assisted by the Decorah Police Department.
