N.E. Iowa Authorities Investigating Shooting Death in Waukon

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Northeast Iowa, resulting in the death of one person.

Just before 3:30pm Monday (April 16), the Waukon Police Department was called to a shooting at a residence on Jean Road in Waukon.

The police department reports that a male subject was taken to Waukon Veterans Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The Iowa State Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy.

According to authorities, the public is not at any risk.

The incident remains under investigation by the Waukon Police Department; they were assisted by the Allamakee County Sheriff, Iowa State Patrol, and Iowa D.C.I..
